Meet your pin host
Hi, I'm Malcolm White, the co-host of the Salisbury Property Investors Network meeting, with my son James White.
I've been educating myself in property, since 'accidentally' becoming a Landlord in 2003. I say accidentally because our younger son needed a home and by default we set up a multi-let - while not really knowing what we were doing!
I came across Simon Zutshi's Property Mastermind Programme having done some investing through Instant Access, which could have been a disaster and WIN Investing. My wife and I went on one of their courses in the Channel Islands and the trainer was - Simon! He spoke with considerably more knowledge and experience than other property trainers we have come across, so we decided to join Simon Zutshi's Property Mastermind Programme 7 in 2009.
Fast-forward 8 plus years and I have been though some highs and lows. Our property investing has continued, with some interruptions with health and family issues. We have a developed portfolio of single and multi-lets, rent 2 rents, and options based investments.
We have worked with various Master-minders on property development work including Dick and Peter Dabner and Richard and Brynley Little of the Property Development Academy. We graduated from the PDA course recently, so can offer some experience in this area.
Alongside our property investments, we decided to set up our own property Sales, Marketing and Lettings agency with our son James. Our experience of the service that we received from High Streets agents was pretty mixed and we chose the systems behind the Ewemove organisation, so that we can offer an efficient and cost effective service. As well as a passion for property and investing I also love the area I live in around Salisbury, living in Downton on the edge of the New Forest. We have been presenting at the Southampton pin Meeting as the preferred Letting Agent and when the subject came up to set up a Salisbury pin host I jumped at it! Hopefully I can give something back to both the network that Simon has built, but also the place I live.
The meetings offer networking opportunities where you can build some great local contacts as well as meet keen property investors from further afield. Plus we have informative speakers each month who talk about all manner of subjects.
Salisbury meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month.

Hello and a really warm welcome to the Salisbury Property Investors Network. My name is James and I co host the monthly meeting here in Salisbury alongside my father and business partner Malcolm White.
Outside of property investing, I made my way up the ladder in the sailing world to being a super-yacht skipper in the Caribbean and Mediterranean for 15 + years. More recently I was a Commander with Red Funnel on the Fast Jets over to the Isle of Wight! They are great big boy toys of course but it did not really pay the bills. My early years at home were surrounded by talk about property and Simon Zutshi's teachings! Our yacht skipper work allowed my wife and I to make enough money to start to invest in our own BTL properties and the property-investing bug took hold!
After returning to the UK to have our first child (now with 2 boys) we had a family discussion as the time had come to put sailing on hold. My wife's family are a well established local property developer as well, so property seemed to be the answer! I have attended a variety of property training programmes from successful Investors, from Simon Zutshi through to Mastermind Graduates such as Richard and Brynley Little of the Property Development Academy.
Having our own property portfolio it seemed logical to set up our own property sales, marketing and lettings agency, which we did through the Ewemove network. I love the wacky marketing and their back office systems are great.
Having attended a lot of pin meetings we were invited to be the preferred Lettings Agent presenting at the Southampton pin, for about 18 months now. I have absorbed a huge amount of material from Simon Zutshi and other extremely successful property investors across the country. When the subject of hosting the Salisbury pin came up, it is a great opportunity to give something back to the people who helped to educate me. I have had the unique privilege of hearing and learning from investors out there right now achieving their dreams and so when Malcolm and I were asked to run Salisbury pin, offering the opportunity to share and help others achieve their goals, we took it.
