Stop Renting and Start Owning!

Right now, due to relatively high interest rates, it can be difficult to obtain a mortgage, and even if you do manage to secure one, the monthly mortgage payments may be higher than you would pay if you were renting.

An alternative is where you become a “Tenant Buyer”. Most people are not aware of this.

It is where you move into a property on a normal rental contract, but you also have a Purchase Option for that property, which means you have the right to buy that property anytime in the next 3 to 5 years (known as the Option Period). This is all arranged through solicitors.

You agree the purchase price today (Option Price), at which you can buy the property in the future, (anytime during the Option Period). What this means, is that you get to lock in the today’s market price, and if the value goes up during the option period, you still get to buy at that agreed price, even if the property is worth more than the price you agreed. This means you could benefit from potential capital growth, over the next few years, without actually owning the property. How cool is that?

You have the right to buy the property during the option period. The owner can’t sell to anyone else. But you don’t have to buy, if you don’t want to. It’s the right to buy, not the obligation to do so.
