Meet your pin host

Hi, I'm James Rothnie and I am the host of the Luton Property Investors Network meeting which takes place on the fourth Tuesday of every month.

If you are reading this page it probably means that you have some interest in property, so please come and join us!

The idea of the meeting is to share information and knowledge in a supportive environment so please get there early for the networking. It doesn't matter if you are new to property investment, highly experienced, or somewhere in between. By listening to the speakers and industry professionals provided at each meeting, and by talking to each other, we can all progress on our path to creating wealth through property.

I became a Luton landlord in 2003, but it was only after I completed Simon Zutshi's one year Property Mastermind Programme in 2010 that I became more focused on property investment, starting with single lets and progressing to HMO's (Houses in Multiple Occupation). Most of my portfolio has been purchased by using a strategy of refinancing, although I have also used rent to rent. To source properties I have used agents, direct to vendor and I have also sourced property at networking meetings, so there's another good reason to come along!

My corporate career was in Public Relations and I have worked for Disneyland Paris, easyJet, and easyGroup where I was Communications Director. Even further back, my first office job was as an estate agent, an invaluable lesson to me now!

I have worked for myself for the past ten years. As well as my property portfolio, I have a Public Relations training consultancy, based mainly in the Middle East. In addition, from my youth and prior to my corporate career, I am a qualified ski instructor. Consequently, I spend about a month a year in the Alps while being paid for it.

One of the many good points about property investment is that if you are organised, it can free up time for other activities, or more property investment.

Looking forward to seeing you in Luton.
