Co-Living Spaces – Using design thinking to create the next generation of urban shared living - Stuart Scott
Stuart is a multi award winning property developer, serial entrepreneur and speaker. Stuart won the highly prestigious '2018 UK Property Investor of the Year' and '2018 HMO deal of the year' for his work to pioneer change in the HMO market. He has built and sold a number of successful businesses including a digital marketing agency and a product design company. He has designed experiences for brands such as Porsche, Microsoft, GAP, Nike, Aardman, Tom Dixon and Penguin Random House. He now uses his skills alongside property development to create unique spaces that set new standards for urban living. He is a regular on the public speaking circuit where he educates people on design, disruption and innovation within the property sector.
The HMO world is going through an evolution into a new type of customer focused product. Stuart had spotted an opportunity to disrupt the HMO market and re-imagine shared living for working professionals. His design-led approach provides unique spaces for people to live, work and play. The Co-Living Spaces experience combines; community, inspired social spaces, smart technology, enhanced facilities and snug bedrooms.
Transferring Design Thinking to Serviced Accommodation
Serviced accommodation is the hot strategy at the moment. With future legislation in mind Stuart and his business partner Carly Houston transferred the same ‘design thinking’ principles to create a chain of self service Smart Boutique Hotels in Brighton with a focus on great design, comfort and technology.
