Norwich September 2018 Meeting
Push the Big Red Planning Button - Linda Wright MBA DipTP
Linda is a planning consultant advising and obtaining planning permission for property developers and investors across England and Wales. She is a key note speaker, writer and guest lecturer at Manchester, Liverpool and Bolton universities
She has enjoyed a successful 35-year career in planning in both the public and private sectors – with the result that she has usually seen most planning problems before. Her pragmatic approach and insight into the planning system have been described as ‘invaluable’. She is truly a gamekeeper turned poacher.
Linda’s presenting style is both informative and entertaining – she says ‘Let’s face it the English planning system can be a minefield so we have to inject a little humour to make it tolerable.’
The USP on her CV is that she worked for several years as a senior planner for the Government on the island of Bermuda.
Linda's presentation for 2018 is ‘Push the Big Red Planning Button’ – where she invites you to ‘press a button’ on some of the planning and property issues trending at the moment. There are 12 topics to choose from.
ALSO.... Champagne Interiors for Lemonade Prices - Use other people's money to buy furniture and fittings for your properties - Andrew Southwood
We all know the basics of mortgage finance for our properties. It’s good debt which increases our return on investment by using OPM (Other People’s Money).
But what about the other assets within our property businesses. Most of those depreciate so we pay cash for them.
At this month's pin meeting, Andrew will show you how you use other people’s money to finance others assets such as furniture and fittings, which will preserve your cash and enable you to pay for the asset out of property income.
Andrew's presentation will consider:
- What assets can be funded
- How this finance can be structured
- The benefits for property investors
- A case study
John Paul Getty once said “If I want an asset that appreciates, I buy it. If I want an asset that depreciates, I lease it”
