The Scrum Of Building – Build a team, plan and implement a gameplan, avoid bad building experiences - Chris Pearce
At some point we will need the builders on our projects to add value and improve our investment and we all have different experiences of this.
With over 30 years working in the construction industry, now as a Senior Contracts Manager with an international company, Chris has seen a lot of good practices and learned from bad practices.
Chris will be focusing not on the technical building elements but how to ensure we can have good practices and systems in place with a team in order to deliver a successful project. There are elements that are relevant whether it be a quick decoration or a detailed refurbishment.
During his presentation, Chris will:-
• Identify the 4 Key areas to a successful project
• Why construction is like rugby
• Describe 8 key members for the scrum of building
• How to reduce risk during your building project
Chris looks forward to sharing his experiences as a Project Manager and rugby player/coach/fan and to demonstrate how there are synergies between building and a game of rugby.
ALSO...Life as a commercial property agent. Working with commercial agents, and how to approach them - Richard Duncan
If you are interested in understanding more about how the commercial property market works, then this is a great speech for you. It will introduce you how to talk to agents and how they value commercial property. You may have much experience in liaising with residential agents, BUT your approach to commercial property agents (and the commercial market in general) needs to be different.
Richard has over 12 years of experience working in the commercial property market - all right here in Reading and Berkshire. His excellent insights into how you can create positive relationships with commercial agents will be really interesting for those looking to venture into the very different world of commercial property.
Topics that will be covered during Richard's presentation...
- learn how to approach commercial agents and start to understand their world
- learn how valuing commercial property is different from valuing residential property
- get to know how and where to find a commercial property to buy and/or rent
- learn about commercial property landlords and why they pose a huge risk for you (as a residential landlord) in the near future
