Portsmouth February 2025 Meeting
It's time to have some flipping fun - Paul Ribbons
Having 4 decades of property experience which covers being an estate agent, developer and a trader, Paul has learnt a thing or two about how to be successful in the property game.
Paul Quotes, “I’m in the people business, property is just the commodity that I trade”
Having studied Phycology and NLP, Paul has a deeper understanding of why buyers and sellers do what they do, and he enlightens property investors to help them succeed.
Whether you are an investor, developer or trader like Paul, you will never buy a house the same way again after hearing him speak.
During his presentation, Paul will explain:
- Why this strategy is so relevant today and how you can get involved
- How trading property compliments a long term investment strategy
- How Trading can help you recycle seed capital
- The 3-2-1 investment Method
ALSO...Have I got Contract News for You - Tony Power
Your guide through the ‘legalese’ is Tony Power, an Honors Law Graduate, sessional law lecturer at Canterbury Christ Church University, student barrister and County Court advocate who specialises in Landlord and Tenant possession hearings.
There are many pre-conceptions as to what a contract is and what a contract is perceived not to be. As such people misunderstand what they can bring a claim for and have a claim brought against them for. This talk will look at what a contract really is and why understanding its formation and structure is important.
The aims of this talk are:
- Discover what really forms a contract.
- What the essential elements of a contract are.
- A look at the Unfair Contact Terms Act 1977.
- Why understanding and reading contracts, especially your own is vital!
- Fixed costs, assessed costs and contractual costs, which one does your AST allow?
If you write the heads of terms for a PLO or other option, or negotiate with a property owner, contractors, or joint venture partner, knowing the basics of contract law is essential. Come along and find out some of the key elements of this important legal area.
If you feel that this talk isn’t for you, because “that’s what I have a solicitor for”… just remember it’s not the solicitor that is bound by the contract… it’s you!
