Hi I'm Mike Gregory, your host of the Sheffield pin meeting held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month.

Having tried property investing for the first time over a decade ago through ‘trial & terror’, I decided that second time round I needed to educate myself and learn from other experienced investors.

I attended my first pin meeting in September 2018 in Sheffield with my wife Claire, and have been regularly attending pin meetings ever since.

My background is in Engineering, which is a career and subject that I’m passionate about, so I choose to invest in property whilst still working full-time. Investing in property allows us to choose how we live our lives and it is through the support of the pin network that we’ve been able to build a portfolio of licensed houses of multiple occupation (HMO) and single lets, as well as a small letting agency, focused on HMO’s.

We have acquired property using various strategies including rent to rent, creative finance and traditional purchase. In addition to our portfolio, we have completed projects including planning gain, heavy refurbishment and conversions.

Our aim with Sheffield pin is to create a warm, friendly atmosphere where you can be supported no matter where you are in your property journey. We have two different speakers each month, with networking opportunities throughout the evening to build your property knowledge and give you confidence to move forward.

We understand that the first time can be nerve-racking and so we have a team of friendly people to make you feel welcome and explain what to expect. Best of all, if you take that first step, you’ll meet a room full of like-minded people, all wanting to improve themselves and you’ll realise that first step was the most difficult.
